On-tap at Black Sands, San Francisco, CA
A: The beer is very hazy dark orange yellow in color—it almost looks like orange juice when viewed from afar. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of wheat are present in the nose along with hints of spicy hops.
T: Lots of flavors of wheat are present in the nose along with some hints of grapefruit and spicy hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness. As the beer warms up, the taste becomes more orangey and citrusy.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and is a little raw and rough from the wheat.
O: This beer isn't that heavy so it is easy to drink but with the rawness of the wheat I wouldn't consider it to be refreshing. You need to let it warm up and let the citrus shine through if you want to make it softer on the palate.
