Forbiddingly dark, but as smooth as a gentle breeze, this rich concoction rested in the dark recesses of bourbon barrels for many months, emerging with complex layers of milk chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Grab a glimpse while you can. The night of the Lost Moon is fleeting.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into snifter.
A: Pours a very dark brown hue with thin tan head that quickly dissipates.
S: Lovely sweet bourbon, crème brûlée, toasted almonds, vanilla, and soft wood char. Potent!
T: Toasted oak, soft caramel, burnt marshmallow, sweet bourbon, and dark brown sugar.
M: Medium body. Soft and coating feel. Layers of malty sweetness. Not much bitterness to this RIS. ABV very well hidden.
D: A solid example of style. Very well balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Not as bitter as most RIS.

750ml bottle, wax dipped. Label has ABV% as 12.1%.
Black colored body, with a relatively large red walnut back lit edge. One finger of tan head, settles back to thick cap. Tiny bubble lacing.
Aroma of chocolate, bourbon barrel, vanilla, and molasses.
Taste is sweet milk chocolate, molasses and caramel, with bourbon barrel and vanilla. Chocolate lingers along with the vanilla.
Smooth and creamy mouth feel. Higher ABV% comes through with a bit of an alcohol burn. Quiet carbonation.
Solid and tasty barrel aged stout. Nothing out of place and all components work well together in balance.

On draft at Pryes. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace on the glass. It smelled of bourbon, oak, vanilla, molasses, chocolate and toffee. Nice bourbon taste of vanilla and oak with rich toffee and chocolate. Mild bitterness.
