Bought and consumed in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. This beer was classically tasty, with a good balance of happiness and maltiness, leaning more on the hoppy side. Had a nice citrus hop profile. Perfect for drinking a few on a hot day or night.

one of the most straightforward of the beers i had from these guys, but also one of the very best. the bottle says 5% abv, not the 8% listed here, and i found it to be much more of an american pale ale than an ipa, especially next to their pelona ipa, which really takes care of that style in their portfolio. this is golden and bright in the glass, creamy white headed and very well carbonated. it has an awesome hop complexion that could pass as something made in southern california these days. its juicy and citrus forward, quite simple and clean on the malt side of things, and only a little bit bitter to finish. lemon and melon come to mind on the hops, zesty and fresh, dry hoppy and definitely more about aroma and flavor than any bitterness. maybe some citra in here, it has that soft lemony complexion to it, but its unique in the style in that its also super refreshing, like the high hop dose doesnt limit the drinkability even a little bit, and as a result, this was the most flavorful pounder we discovered in all of costa rica. so fresh and well proportioned, made with an expertise we didnt find in a lot of the craft beer there. quick finishing, light and bubbly in the feel but with just enough body for all the hops, clean in the end. this was just really good pale ale, one of the best beers we had on the trip form a technical standpoint, and one that i think would sell well back in the states. impressive little beer here!

This beer has evolved in a very good way since the first time I tried it. The Treintaycico brewers are working wonders with their beers. This one is citrusy and aromatic high bitterness right on the spot with a good amount of malty character and a nice body.

Great beer.
