I have visited a couple of times and the brewer was kind enough to show us the behind the scene brewing process. Liked beers were Military themed and they support the troops.

This was stop #3 on a week-long pub crawl for my wife and I. This brewery is located on the main highway that goes to Traverse City (just north of the M-72 intersection), so it is really part of the TC grouping of breweries. The place just opened earlier this year and may be still trying to make a name for themselves. The pub was not busy on a Wednesday evening, even though a musical group was playing. There is somewhat of a military theme to the décor. We visited here only to try their beer, and the service was very good. (There is no food prepared here, but a pizza food truck was parked to one side of the building, and a menu was placed on each table inside the brewery. We didn’t try it, so this review does not include a food score.)

There were 8 beers on tap so we ordered a sampler flight of all of them. All of them were brewed close to their respective style, and some exceeded the style definition so that we gave them a B- score. The others were a C or C+ grade, although one selection was a Shandy, which we don’t see and drink very often so we weren’t sure of how to score it. (It was good, but didn’t ‘wow’ us.) Overall, the beers scored a C+ rating in our grading system. (Note: the highest ABV of the available beers was 6.1%, so the brewery may be trying to be conservative and is providing beer flavor at a minimal level of alcohol.)

For a relatively new brewery, they are on the right track to having good beer, and hopefully the brewer can begin to add a little more excitement to them to help bring in the crowds.
