75cL bottle (euro cap) of Birra Flea's Artigianale MA.MA IPA (green label). Preferably consumed by 18 01 21 -- I'm hoping that's day month year rather than year month day, but neither option is particularly reassuring here in mid-2019. Beer is extremely pale (7 EBC according to the web site, which is 3.5 in SRM/degrees Lovibond) and quite cloudy. Nice big foamy white head. Aroma is quite yeasty, and a bit tart, almost like a Belgian Wit or wild ale, or maybe raw pizza dough in this case. Flavor has a bit of traditional C-hop orange/citrusy bitterness, though I suspect this is brewed with a German or even English hop varietal. Yeasty sourness, for me, detracts from enjoying this beer as an IPA. I think 750mL is more than I really want of this, though it's been a fun novelty to have craft beer from Italy.
The Ma Ma series from Birra Flea is supposed to be "back to nature": unfiltered, unpasteurized, free of adjuncts, made only with Umbrian barley. The unfiltered nature of this IPA is very evident. I've called it an English IPA, while the hop character doesn't exactly match, the appearance definitely doesn't.
