Copenhagen 12/1 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Black label with circles in different shades of purple. Seems to be Flea’s Line of design.
Pours hazy orange with a small bubbly white head. Disappears after a few seconds leaving no foam behind.
Aroma is moderately intense, sweetish with a light lemonade-ish touch. Sweet pale malts, citrus and lime, white sugar, honey. The alcohol is looming in the background.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, greasy texture.
Flavor has a strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate but harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter-sweet with the sweetness taking the upper hand. Lingers for a while. Boozy finish.
Not especially “Belgian” - just a bit too sweet and with a very prominent presence of alcohol.

Jan. 2020: 330 ml bottle, as Birra Flea Violante Belgian Strong Ale, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Cloudy golden to dirt brown colour, moderate to small white head. Sweetish aroma of kandij sugar and Belgian ale yeast, malts and mild spices. Moderate but sufficient carbonation. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also a nice character of dried fruits. Decent beer.
