Due to the demise of the Anchor Brewing Company we felt obligated to brew the style, in a Mad Brewer's Apocalypse Style of course. This very light amber lager with Hallertau hops was fermented at ale temps (60-62° F) then aged in new French oak for 3 weeks prior to bottling.

Quite foggy amber to light brown with a very tall but airy khaki foam head.
Decidedly old school from the jump, it's pretty lean, assertive and dry. A grassy, nearly piney and grapefruity bitterness meets an amber malt profile accented by a faint hint of spiced pear ester.
Here's to Chobani resurrecting Anchor, hopefully without souring on them!
