Pale hazy gold with an eggshell foam that is quick to fizzle out to nothing.
This drastic improvement upon its base features light grape and grass with apple. It's like a lightly tart white wine or even a sour champagne.

750ml bottle of the 2017 bottling. Served in a FFG stemmed glass. Pour is a clear golden copper body, one finger white head with a short retention and no lacing. Apropos for a beer/wine hybrid. Smell is like a sour hefeweizen; mild acetic acid, light lemon and leather with a fair bit of banana. It’s kind of weird. Not particularly vinous on the nose. Flavour is much more interesting and meets the billing a lot more than the 2016 Chardonnay batch did. Light mineral, lemony tartness, touch of vinegar, moderate sweet white vinous character, a light amount of oak and a bit of banana and the slightest trace of sulfur. It’s good. Mouthfeel is medium lighter bodied, lower carbonation as expected, nice vinous and light spice on the finish. Solid beer, I much prefer reds to whites so I am looking forward to the next bottling which I think is a Sangiovese or something similar.
