On draft at FFG, served in a mini tumbler glass. Pour is a clear and darker red body, half finger white head, shorter retention and not much lacing to be seen. Smell is cherry flesh, a more subdued cherry tartness, mild-moderate acetic acidity, rounded out by a bit of sweeter spirit aromas. Not hot, not particularly oaky, but there is a fair bit less lactic acidity that is noticeable on the nose. This translates to the flavour component, with a smooth slightly warming brandy presence, smoothing over of the cherry tartness that I have at times found to be a bit overwhelming in the regular Cherry Meerts, mild acetic acidity, light oak and a bit of graininess. Not superbly complex, but I do enjoy this more than the base as it is more well-rounded and a little more complex. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth with good carbonation. Notably different than the regular Cherry Meerts due to the AB presence, which I think also rounded out the rough edges quite a bit.
