375ml bottle on site at the taproom. Served in a FFG stemmed glass. Pours a slightly cloudy ruby reddish pink body with a one finger white head. Short retention. No lacing. Smell is bright seedy blackberry tartness, touch of mixed berry sweetness, light oak, moderate acetic and lactic acidity. Flavour is similar to what the nose sets up, with a heavy acetic acidity belying what the nose shows. This is probably in part due to the heavy blackberry tartness on top of the acetic acid. Light straw, minimal mixed berry sweetness. The acidity is what kills you, but before that one can appreciate the fruits and what they bring to this blend. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, dry and exceedingly tart with a slightly fruity finish. The acidity lessens up some as it warms, but it’s very strong upfront. Be prepared with your iron stomach.
