This 2018 holiday beer pays homage to the Bumbleberry Pie - a three berry pie originating from Canada. We aged a Méthode Traditionnelle blend in a J. Henry bourbon barrel before refermenting the beer on blueberries, raspberries, and boysenberries.

Bottle share with a Funk Factory dude at the pop up bottle shop at Eagle Park. Thanks!! Very full and rich berry taste. A bit more on the tart side than I'd like but probably the best FF beer I sampled that day.

On draft at Funk Factory. Dark purple reddish body, quarter finger white head, short retention, not much lacing; looks like a red wine more than anything else. Smell is big berries; distinct boysenberry tartness, sweet raspberry jam, lemon, mild wet hay. The blueberries don't seem to lend anything distinct in particular. Oak, leather, mild-moderate acetic acidity. Flavour follows, more of a sweeter raspberry fruit presence, boysenberry tartness, a bit of cinnamon-like spice on the backend; leather, funky and wet oak, hay. It's a lot like All Black Everything, but a little more distinct in terms of the berry flavours. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lower in carbonation, a bit dry, a slight spice on the finish which is presumably from the whiskey barrels this was aged in. Overall, a delightful, mildly dry berry-forward wild ale with a good bit of nuanced funk to it.
