Had this on a trip to the brewery in June 2019. I'm a huge fan of OG Meerts. Thus far, the fruited ones I've had have all been good, but not as good as OG.

This one takes on a more orange appearance, makes sense, has some similarities with hazy ipa appearance wise, thin 1/4" white head. The aroma doesn't have that Madison area cow farm impact to the same degree, the amount of orange definitely cuts into those notes, but its still good, just slightly less unique to the area.

Taste follows similarly. While its a welcome addition (orange) it isn't "better". It does provide cover from those barnyard notes to not be as pungent, but you know, that is what brought me to the dance. Cut into the oak as well. Still a nice levity experience and still ultra crushable. Does have a hint more acidity, but you know, citrus bro. Comes with the territory. One of the weird things I recall, is that the fruit addition causes these to grow in price 50%? ($10 for OG, $15 for fruited ones) Dude that is some Bruery level addition (BT = $30, BT with hazelnuts = $40) that only makes me love the OG more. Still a good beer.

750ml bottle, FFG stemmed glass. Pours a cloudy golden orange body, one finger white head, good retention, minimal lacing. Smell is tart citrus, a faint blood orange sweetness, zesty tangerine, medium acidic acidity, a bit of vinegar as well, slight oak. Flavour follows; citrus, blood orange sweetness, fairly acidic, a bit of oak, light funk. Medium lighter bodied, slightly lower carbonation, good citrus flavour and toasted grains on the finish. Solid citrus-forward sour beer indeed.
