Framgouden is the first release of our Méthode Traditionnelle (M.T.) blend aged on 2 lbs/gal of golden raspberries from a local Wisconsin berry farm. To complement the juicy acidity and intense vibrancy of the fruit, we used some of the most well-rounded and oaky M.T. beer in our stock. The golden raspberries contributed plenty of the expected jammy, raspberry flavors we love in beers like Frampaars and Framzwart, but almost no color; it’s a golden colored brainteaser that plays with your perceptions about what the beer will taste like and makes for an unexpected rush of flavor. We only made a small amount of Framgouden in 2018, but it’s proved to be one of our favorite raspberry blends to date, and one we’ll likely start incorporating as an annual release provided we can source enough berries.

Bottle served into a FFG tumbler glass. Pours a slightly cloudy orange yellow body, one finger white head, fair retention, bit of lacing. Smell is massive raspberry jam, moderate cobweb and funk, light leather, damp oak. Big raspberry. Really nice stuff. Flavour follows, big complexity, oak and leathery funk, good carbonation, mildly wet damp oak, raspberry fruit on the finish. One of the better beers to come from Funk Factory in recent years.
