Meerts is our take on the style of beer traditionally derived from the second runnings of Lambic. Our modern interpretation begins with Pilsner malt, raw wheat, and Saaz hops, which is brewed using a turbid mash and long boil, and fermented in French oak foeders with our wild yeast. This version was then refermented on boysenberries for two months prior to bottle conditioning.

Passionate reddish violet pour with a short lived pinkish head, clear edging. Smell is full of the boysenberry with accenting tart oak, raspberry skin, vinegar, gentle funk and hay. Taste follows, but make no mistake the boysenberry and all it's complexity is allowed to show off, incredible. Hay and funk add some floral aspects as they parade along the oak, balsamic vinegar and supporting earth and jammy berries. Feel is jammy up front but wild and decently tart by the finish, tempered by intentional oak and funk. Light and delicate beauty, best meerts yet in my book
