Kriekenlaan is a Méthode Traditionnelle (MT) blend of 18-30 month old barrels that was aged on two pounds per gallon of Montmorency and Balaton cherries, and a small portion of Hudson cherries.
The beer was aged on the whole fruit and the maceration process lasted ten months to allow the beer to fully absorb the essence of these cherries before bottling. The result is a fresh, lively flavor from the tart cherries, accompanied by subtle notes of cinnamon and baking spices from the pits and darker, sweeter fruit.
