Framroood takes everything we love about Framrood and amplifies it! After blending some of our favorite 18-30 month-old spontaneous barrels last summer, we added close to a thousand pounds of red raspberries from a berry farm in central Wisconsin. The 6 lb/gal fruiting rate is triple the amount that’s normally in Framrood and lends itself to a decadent drinking experience. Framroood is absolutely saturated with the color and bright, jammy flavors of fresh raspberries, but still allows the funky complexity of the spontaneous beer to shine through. This is one seriously indulgent beer, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

Had on tap. Murky dark ruby with a fluffy white head. Huge tart raspberry smell with oak, funk, spon and jammy sweetness, hint of red currant and cherry, and slight lacto. Taste is more simple: big jammy raspberry with funk and oak. With the enhanced raspberry, it leans more into the wild ale territory, but there is enough lambic funk to remind you it is there. Otherwise oak driven feel, slightly heavier than others in the series.

It poured a bright red color with foam nearly to the lip of the glass but dissipated quickly. At the nose, sweet raspberry jam with tart funk. Slight leather and oak. Upon sipping, it’s indeed juicy with a heap full of raspberries. Sweet throughout with slight yoghurt lactic tartness and oak. Very balanced, not too acidic, allowing the jammy fruit come through. This makes it much easier to drink a bottle in one setting. Really wish I had more than one bottle. This was excellent.
