Grapes of Aragon is our spontaneously fermented beer adhering to the Méthode Traditionelle standard. It was aged for 18-30 months in used French oak barrels and then re-fermented with over two pounds per gallon of Carignan grapes for two months.

Hit up the Funk Factory and they had like 1.5L of this for $40. With an awesome Memorial Day BBQ on the schedule, it was an easy pickup.
Pours a very lightly carbonated wine like color, red and purple mixture. Very little in the way of head due to the almost still nature of the beer/wine hybrid. It has this wine grape, cranberry, wood and currant vibe going for it.
The taste was aight, had a light wood funk, but for me the currant and cranberry like impact made it eh, less enjoyable. This is definitely a beer/wine hybrid, and the almost still carbonation leans one over. Has a light dryness like there was raspberries as part of the fruit input. I didn't think it was all that acidic, but yet pushed those tannic grape/cranberry/currant notes throughout. It wasn't a big sour banger. It was light there. Like I said, I think this leaned more wine than beer.
Cool thing to bring to the party, but its not a legendary beer or wine or anything, but hey, 1.5L are fun times with good friends and good grub.

Cellared 2 years. Violet red body with no head. Smell features wine grape, barnyard funk, acidic red currant, apple, cranberry and oak, with a hint of leather. Taste is much the same but thankfully not as acidic as it smells, grapes have some must to them here, red fruits still a huge support, oak too. Feel is light and sour with a kiss of acidity as it warms, funk, musty and oak textures abound delicately. Great for early spring
