Syrah is a Méthode Traditionnelle (MT) blend of 18-30 month-old barrels that was aged on organically grown Syrah grapes from Washington’s Columbia Valley. We feel this is our best wine grape beer to date, and it builds on the experiences gleaned over the past few years. We added 700 lbs of hand-harvested, crushed Syrah to a five barrel blend and allowed it to soak for only a few weeks and monitored it daily.

Once the refermentation had finished and the beer was dry, it was immediately transferred off of fruit and bottled. By doing this, we were able to capture all of the funk and complexity from the spontaneous beer, but also preserve the fresh flavors we love about the Syrah. We get strong flavors of Bing cherries and purple raspberries.

Unknown vintage; drank 3/20/21 @ Lola's.

Pleasantly tart concord grape notes & nice funk; this wasn't overly sour but well balanced. A very nice brew!
