Described by many as “The perfect example of an Irish Red”, Killanny Red is named after the townland that surrounds our farm and brewery. The deep, russet ruby hue of this beer is complimented by it’s biscuity aromatic caramel malt, nutty flavours of toasted hazelnut, and crisp tones of hops and berries.
This beer is great on its own and just perfect with BBQ red meats, lamb, stew, roast beef, black pudding or mature cheddar.
Ingredients: Water, Malted Barley, Hops, Yeast
Allergens: Malted Barley

500ml bottle from Reilly's Off License, Fermanagh (£2.99):
Dark amber to mahogany with a huge, medium tan head that's about 6cm tall & rising with a dome shaped top & a few bubbles through it; just a bit too big really. It's quite malty on the nose, a little nutty to with some caramel, bread notes & subtle biscuit to close. Bread malts & biscuit open the taste, there's some darker fruits coming through & what seemed like a tiny bit of tart. It's well carbonated & tangy with some caramel then a dry, earthy bitterness towards the end.

look: two finger off white head with good retention and some lacing, red as a red ale can be, and more or less clear, lots of bubbles rising up the beer.
smell: it’s smell is really quite faint, however it does smell nice, really nutty and malty like a red ale should be, brown bread, earthy, some fruity flavours, maybe cherry and fig and orange, some hoppy bitterness too although it’s subtle.
taste: that’s a nice red ale alright, it’s malty at first, slightly smokey malt, bready, then those nutty flavours come through, lots of earthy flavours as well, some fruit sweetness, cherry and orange mainly, and a touch of bitterness on the finish, however all these flavours are still quite mild.
feel: light bodied, medium carbonation, wet mouthfeel, a bit watery, sessionable.
overall: an enjoyable red ale, a very pretty beer anyway, if it just had a bit more body it would elevate it a lot.
