Patrick Kavanagh wrote “The Stony Grey Soil of Monaghan” in honor of the place that shaped him, and taught him the lessons of life, harsh as they may be. The same Stony Grey Soil inspired us to create this fragrant, yet herbal and woody IPA. This delicious, cloudy orange delight hits so many notes, like tropical fruit, pine cedar, and sweet hops, with a slight bitter finish and a nice foamy white head.
Great on its own but also with spicy foods like Indian or Mexican. A perfect accompaniment to Lemon curd cake.
Ingredients: Water, Malted Barley, Hops, Yeast
Allergens: Malted Barley

500ml bottle from Reilly's, Fermanagh (£2.50):
Pale golden with a translucent body & a 2cm,foamt white head that holds pretty well with good lacing on the Sides. The nose is fresh with pungent citrus & floral hops with pale malts at the end. The taste is similar with citrus & lemon initially, pale malts & a few pine touches. It's a medium, smooth body that's a little bland at times, particularly towards the end. Okay but far from anything special.

Has an interesting fruit combo throughout. Lemon leads the charge, but there is definitely some pear, apple and orange too. The hops are not too spicy, even for a single ipa. In smell the fruits can get me by, but in taste I need some hops. Body is a little thin and frothy.

Look:pale gold, quite murky, substantial frothy head
Smell: restrained citrus, a little hops
Taste: lemon, and apple, malt, a touch of toffee, powerful, sophisticated
Feel:lots of bite, a little sweetness well balanced with lots of sour,
Overall:Expertly crafted ipa, a real treat. Description says American Pale Ale, the label says India Pale Ale - I say Exceptional Pale Ale! (Available in O'Briens)
