Shaker glass pour at the brewery.
Arrives a bright straw color with brisk carbonation that evokes the champagne it's a nod to.
Not much aroma other than hints of sweet, biscuity malt and light tartness.
Flavor is a continuation of the nose, sweet maltiness, light white bread and biscuit and a delicate tartness. For whatever reason, I feel the sweetness and malt are too present and could take a step back while the tartness could be upped a tad.
The refreshing factor here is great though. Really light and easy-drinking. A 3 percent beer in Albuquerque is unheard of unless you're drinking a Bud or something, so on that front alone I welcome this. It was easy to drink and went well with food in that it didn't fill me.
Not a homerun, but this is a nice entry into Albuquerque, even if just a seasonal.
