an odd one but a good one, my first from ponderosa. its sort of loosely sour, with a very light and shockingly clean lactic profile, but all on the front end, the reverse, almost fully abnormal, lemony like crazy, but gone by the midway mark. otherwise very light and classic, a cleaner and clearer, more refined pale wheat malt base, with something else very light, and a nice dried out mellow farmy summery yeast base. the sourness is minimal, and so is the funk really, this is very elegant and well refined, but there is a wild element to it, just so minor on the acidity and all. extremely nuanced there on the yeast side of things, and while my girlfriend finds it a little off putting, i kind of like the strange and unfamiliar nature of it. good carbonation and crispy dry, which i love in the style, and a decent new world hop profile there to finish it out. i like it better and better the more i drink on it. it doesnt look like these guys do much sour or wild stuff, so its that much more impressive if its an early kick at the can there. nice beer, looks very promising moving forward...
