This IPA is a hopslosion with a focus on Chinook hops for a piney kick to your mouth hole. Also, you’ll be able to enjoy a grapefruity citrus aroma karate chopping you in your nasal cavity.

In a pint glass the beer is a clear gold color with a one inch white head. There is some nice lace.
Aroma of grapefruit and pine. Subtle.
Taste follows the nose. Grapefruit up front, followed by pine. Again, fairly subtle.
Light-bodied, easy to drink.

I recently had Threshold IPA from a growler that I bought at Red Door Brewing on my recent visit to Albuquerque, New Mexico, ABV 6.60%. The no-head was a disappointment, it is a bit on the mild side, but it was well balanced with a little bit of grapefruit and more pine. Not the best IPA I've had but refreshing in the Texas heat and pretty good.
Look - It has a Golden color with a 2-inch thick white head.
Aroma - The aroma is some caramel and grapefruit.
Taste - The taste is caramel, grapefruit, mango, and there's pine.
Overall - light to medium body.

On-tap at Red Door Brewing, Albuquerque, NM
A: The beer is crystal clear dark golden yellow in color and has a faint amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grapefruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has stronger notes of grapefruit and additional hints of tangerines. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and faintly sticky on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA isn't as assertive as other West Coast IPAs but in this aspect it is rather easy to drink.
Serving type: on-tap

In a hophead town there are plenty of over-the-top tongue twisters. If you're looking for a break this is a nice, even ipa that reaches out then pulls it's punch nicely.

On tap at brewery. First sip made me wince. Normal appearance, tart, sour, pungent aroma. Taste doesn't improve anything...turpentine, anyone? Unfortunately the whole mess lingers on the palate as a constant reminder. I need a rinse....

This was my third beer of the night, following a too-sweet, maple-flavored ale and a too-bitter, almost flavorless, single IPA. This double from Threshold, which I think clocks in at 10% ABV, stimulated my taste buds, without either overwhelming or underwhelming them. And as a former resident of the Northeast Heights, I'm glad to see that Albuquerque is making some great beer.
