A 500ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2014, so it's a little out of date. Acquired a while back from a discount store.
A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A coppery-brown colour with faint haze and good carbonation. Forms a smallish head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a moment before reducing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of vague caramel malt with hints of toasted grain, fruity ale yeast, faint nuttiness and stewed leaves. Slightly sweet and fairly uninspiring.
T: Tastes of caramel malt with a subtle dry finish. Notes of mild toasted grain, fruity ale yeast, nuttiness, stewed leaves and faint earthiness. Slightly sweet, followed by a subdued bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and an insubstantial body. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves/cardboard, faint caramel malt and earthy yeast.
O: Meh - pretty average fare. Looks OKish, while the aroma and flavour are a dull blend of weak caramel malt, stewed leaves and yeast. Lacklustre body. Basically, it's a boring brown beer. No need to hunt it down.

Pocked sandstone that crusts over cherry amber. 4
Autumn leaf nose, with plum skin and sandalwood. 4
Buttery Marris Otter toffee, some acid malt bite, fresh apple, and slight leafy, spicy hops end. 3.75
Brown sugar finish that cuts dry.
Crisp, slight cling, dry, round. 4
-- Exquisite balance between sweet fruit, sharp clean acid, and warm brown toasty-melanoidins. The finish is low on hops, but the IBUs are enough. Matches with lots of foods. A real winner. 4.25

Their Brown ale
probably the best of a woeful bunch (Corby)
I mean it's almost a brown ale with its flavour
Bottled though thankfully not clear glass
