A 500ml bottle with a BB of April 2018. Purchased a while back from ALDI. Brewed in Newry, NI. The label has some guff about polar bears but little about the beer itself.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A very hazy brownish-amber colour with just tons of chunky floating sediment and moderate carbonation. Looks like precipitated protein. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of leafy hops with hints of caramel malt, grain, mild barley sugar, hay, subtle herbs, fruity ale yeast and faint stewed husks. Balanced but underwhelming, particularly for an IPA.
T: Tastes of bitter leafy hops with notes of grass/hay, herbs, faint spice, caramel malt, grain, fruity ale yeast and stewed leaves/husks. Slightly sweet, followed by a substantial bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of bitter leafy hops, grass/hay, herbs, caramel malt and ale yeast.
O: Hmmm - OK as a beer but not a particularly great IPA. Lacklustre looks, while the aroma and flavour are long on malt and relatively short on hops. Decent body. Too malty and lacking in hop definition, making this just another bog-standard supermarket brew. No need to hunt it down.

Bottled
Pours a golden body with decent enough foaming white head
Diluted grapefruit aroma
And that's pretty much the flavour a half hearted IPA that has some nice notes behind the wateryness

Brewed in Newry Northern Ireland, this is a pale light brown colour, very frothy head, aroma is summer flowers, malt and hops, flavour has a good deal of bite, a touch of caramel with a lot of bitter hops and malt and a touch of carbonation. very enjoyable beer and very good value in Aldis right now.
