Drank in a Sovina glass.
A: The body is cristalline amber Looking almost perfect but the whit head had like no retention and lacing at all but it seems to me that this batch is a bit old. Again, the body was great but the head and carbonation didn't seem right.
S: Strangely and interestingly, the aroma profile is really close to an IPA. Piny, fruity and hoppy aromas rise here and...
T: ... that's exactly what happens with the taste. If I was to make a blind tasting, so far I'd be saying that I'd be having an IPA until... (sorry for this)
M: ... until the mouthfeel kicked in and you could notice you have a totally different beer in hands. The bitterness is very smooth and provides a malty to coffee taste in mouth due to the soft malt roastiness. Flavorwise, it's great. But the carbonation is missing, it's low to mild being almost irrelevant here. But clearly this is not due to the fact of the style nor the product itself. Shelf life is probably lower than thought.
O: Dispite the problems with carbonation and head formation, this is really interesting. Having an IPAaccent on an rye amber ale is beer for thought. :)
