Vibe - neat place, was the original location of OMB
Quality - clean and fresh
Service - self service - 1/2 pours for all
Selection - Dark Reflection - plum dark ale, very good, also a cab wine dark ale - very Consecration-ish - really good beer here

This place SHOULD not be in business. They do NOT know how to make beer. Watery, thin, stouts and porters, off tasting flavors in their other beers. I honestly think the only reason there were a bunch of guys at the bar is because of the great looking female bar tenders. Compared to other places in Charlotte it is NOT GOOD.

The space is very cool on the inside and they have a lot of great beers. Their Belgian style beers are their main focus and are probably the best, especially the dubbel.

This building was the former home of Olde Mecklenburg Brewing. I absolutely love what Sugar Creek has done with it. The space is wonderful and they're about to build a massive deck across the front of the brewery as well. Killer vibe - great bar in the back and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The beer is great - they focus on Belgian styles and they're doing a damn nice job of it. Pick up a couple of their bottles while you're there, the bombers are cheap and the labeling is damn nice. Definitely check them out. Great stuff! Cheers.

Old OMB spot off of Old Pineville Road. Well done inside. Kind of a downgrade in atmosphere from the new OMB spot across the street but the beer is more interesting with a broader selection. Really good saison and Belgian pale. And free popcorn!!

This is the old Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. The outside looks exactly the same, but as soon as you walk in you can see they made this place their own very quickly. There is still a ton of table seating in front of you when you enter, with the large L shaped bar dead ahead. The changes are subtle, but make all the difference. Different wall coloring, a couple of flat screen televisions, and different lighting, and the place has a whole new feel. The copper housings of the taps is still there, which is good, because that is a classic look. The bartender there when I visited was awesome. She knew her shit, and was insanely friendly. I see big things for this brewery going forward, especially in the Charlotte scene.

These guys are in the former OMB space. Nice marketing. Barrel aged porter (not on BA as I write this) is very good (incredible caramel finish!). While I appreciate the Belgium angle, beers are average. They can probably capitalize on the new OMB next door, but seems like just another brewer in the South End.

This is where OMB used to be before they moved. Sugar Creek has taken over and added their own vibe to the space which was already well suited to being a brewery. The decor is somewhere between nautical and steampunk. Interesting art adorns the walls, but it's minimal and far from cluttered. The place just feels cool when you walk in.
The beer is above what I expected from such a young brewery. Every beer was above average, and some quite good. They brew a lot in Belgian styles which can be daunting for young craft breweries, but the Dubbel was very good. They also had one of the better fruit beers I've had outside of sours.
Service was excellent, everything came quickly and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour leader was very personable and clearly loved what he was doing, which always makes conversation engaging. The food here is pretty decent as well.
There were 6 beers on tap, 5 regulars and one-off. They are already planning on expanding and doing more seasonals and experimentals. They are also only a couple weeks away from bottling. They're going to have plenty of beers to try very soon.

Stopped by to see what occupies the old OMB and was pleasantly surprised. Their Pale Ale is an awesome session beer at 5.2% and their Saison was very refreshing.
