Continuing to clean out the refrigerator... this was given to me by someone who bought it and didn't like it. This can is a bit old at this point, but I remember having mixed feelings last time. Pint can, meet pint glass.
L: Pours a nice golden, bubbly yellow with a fluffy white head that fades quickly.
S: Hard to smell today with bad sinus issues, but let's try. It's mostly the coconut I smell, with maybe a little pineapple underneath.
T: It's an enigmatic one. Confusing. I taste the coconut but don't find the pineapple to be all that prevelant. Not a big fan of coconut, so... anyway, it has a dry, bitter finish. It goes from a little sweet to a little astringent in the blink of an eye. Yes, it's not malty and not really hoppy, either. As it warms, I get more of a juicy component that is very pineapple, but still, I don't feel like everything blends all that well. Honestly, the pineapple reminds me of that time I threw up pineapple in first grade and didn't eat pineapple again for several years. I love pineapple.
F: It's smooth like a stout despite nothing else resembling one. Pretty creamy. I'm thinking the aftertaste lingers more than the body.
It's weird and I don't really love it. Fine I guess. Could just be the clash of form and style, since it is a unique one. Just doesn't seem to suit my tastes.

So much on the outside of this pint can is alluring. First, it's a rare white stout. The ABV is a formidable 13 percent. It has the Pina Colorado-like infusion of coconut and pineapple. All that is a pretty unique combination. Now, let's pour the contents into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. Well, it's not white, although the fluffy head is. It looks more like a moderately hazied IPA. The color is a dark orange-amber and it's opaque without being murky. Some of the head is leaving a nice lacing in the glass and the overall appearance is good. Coconut prevails in the smell, but there are other non-descriptive contributors which makes this smell like a sunblock. Very rich and creamy in its delivery of the flavors, this leads with the coconut. Although the taste buds aren't at all effected by it, the high ABV doesn't present itself until the esophagus warms after the first swallow. This is as rich tasting and as smooth as most of the very good Imperial Stouts. It's missing the roasted malt and hoppiness that the traditionalists probably won't accept. But, if you think of this as just another desert beer, you'll be impressed. Just don't expect much pineapple. The fruit probably adds to the moderate sweetness, but there must be some disguised hops within, for this finishes on the dry and bitter side. Unique? Absolutely, so give it a try is the recommendation.

16oz can cated 02/01/21 boasts a cloudy, yellow gold body and almost floats a white fluffy head that disappears into the ether.
Aroma of pineapple and coconut checks the boxes, but the sweet, cloying flavor is too much and detracts from my appreciation, which diminishes with each drink.
A nice creamy, full feel though, so the play wasn't half bad.

Tasted in a snifter from a 750 ml bottle on May 21, 2018. A white stout brewed with coconut and pineapple. The adjuncts have an artificial flavor to them.
