Very smooth for a sour -- not bad, but does not have strong mouth feel. VERY subtle pear aftertaste that could be mistaken for weak apple. Not over priced compared to other scours -- good beer if you can find it for a good price. Would drink again, but not in the same category as Jester King or Wicked Weeds of the world.

Pours an effervescent gold with a rapidly falling ivory colored head. Stays effervescent minimal head retnetion & lacing
S: Pear, apple blossoms,
T: Pear, honey crisp apple & dryness up front. Sourness & pear, white grape juice as this warms. Finishes crisp & sour & dry
MF: Medium body with crisp carbonation, enamel gripping stickyness
Easy to drink & refreshing, but not very challenging or complex

these guys are just so incredibly hit or miss, especially on the sour stuff. pear is often real weird in beer, and its real weird here, more of the tart earthy green bumpy skin than the sweet soft ripe subtle flesh. its not as perfume heavy as some pear beers are (i very often hate that), but its not that great. the sour seems like a quick lacto type, but not real clean. it may have been mashed or sparged a little warm, as there are definitely some grain tannins and such that dont really belong, and a slight cheesy nature to the aroma. the flavor is bright, and the pear is not too much, so well done in that regard, but overall to me, the beer just feels cheap, which is odd because these guys are one of the most expensive (and overpriced) brands in the market. good carbonation and although its a little thin, the body is fine. acidity is high, and this is not something i would be interested in having more than one of. i can see the appeal with the pear, but the souring process is a bit sloppy, and in the end its another lackluster beer from a brewery who i am rapidly losing faith in...

Aroma is strong caramel/toffee, pears, malts and sour notes. The flavor is pears, caramel, mild toffee, a hint of spicy hops, malts and a long and tart/sour finish.
