Somehow this hasn't been reviewed yet, canning date smudged
Pours a ridiculously carbonated way too large 3+ finger head that forces me to stop pouring way early, pinkish fizzy head, hazy cranberry reddish mahogany beer with tons of floaties
Nose brings some yeasty notes, bready doughy yeast, some spicy grassy and a bit dank like hops, some tart fruity boysenberry, no citrus can get through the berry
Taste more of the same, starting with tart boysenberry, lots of berry with nice sour flavor, a bit of yeast, doughy bready yeast, into a bit of spicy and mild citrus hops, citrus is hard to get, more grassy spicy like hops with mild bitterness, mild sticky flemmy finish
Mouth is med bod, plenty of fizzy fluffy carbonation and again over carbonated, flemmy sticky finish, tart acidity
Overall this didn't go well, dry hopped kettle sours are hard to get right, need to get everything to play nice, this didn't really have clashes but the "NEIPA" like hops are completely lost to the boysenberry and sourness, and the yeast fermented way too much and over carbonated as well as yeasty flavor, just wasn't done well.

Purportedly a "tart New England style pale ale with pomegranates".
Appearance is mostly clear albeit somewhat cloudy. Extremely effervescent. Thin white head dissipates steadily leaving a thin ring of foam along the outside the beer with a gentle hill of foam in the center. By way of appearance this is no way resembles a NE style IPA - looks like a slightly cloudy beer.
Aroma has some sweet pomegranate notes with some strawberry banana, lemon, and a touch of a dairy like aroma - like you'd get in a dairy based fruit smoothie. No tartness on the nose but some definite sweetness.
Taste has notes of pomegranate with some strawberry banana notes and a flavor that I can only describe as yogurt like. There is a slight tartness that I get from any beer brewed with pomegranates. Not getting anything like you'd get from kettle sour or something like that. There is some definite sweetness to the beer that comes through.
Feel is light and dry. Not really what Id expect from a NE style IPA. Lively carbonation provides a definite prickle in the mouth.
Overall this isn't a bad beer per se its just not great and it certainly does a poor job of living up to the billing on the can. This beer really isn't tart and it really isn't a NE style IPA. Probably best that this was a one off collaboration.
