one of the better sour beers i have had from these guys, heavily grapey, which gives it a nice wine component, bold and different, and while its quite acidic, its not too sour to drink on, because there is some sweetness balancing it from the fruit, and the sourness is really clean, no residual slop, this really is a standout to me as something very original, even among all the grape wild and sour beers out there right now. it almost has a sugary kids drink grape element when i let it, but then i also taste nice wines, both tangy summery whites and heavy dense woody reds, this has a lot of character, i wish i knew which actual grapes they used, its hard to place even at this intensity, but i am not a wine guy to the extent i am a beer one, not sure i would recognize them more specifically anyway. the balance of textures is as good as the balance of flavors, clean acid meets fruity richness, excellent carbonation too. in the end this is really drinkable for how sour it is, and a huge jump better than the pear version. impressive beer from these guys, i hope to see more from this series...
