I scored a can of this collaboration between Destihl and Durty Bull. It’s described as being “lemon tea- infused New England Style DIPA made with southern cross hops.”
First sip brought far too much carbonation, but that subsided substantially as I drank it. If it’s a NEIPA, it’s the first I’ve had that tasted sweet, or at least sweeter than one would expect from the style. But that’s not to say it was bad—because it wasn’t. Its substantial Head didn’t fade too much throughout the pint, and, In fact, it was quite enjoyable. At 7%, it might be a “transitional” NEIPA for those who have either never had one or who just want a different NEIPA experience. I don’t know if the lemon tea (which I couldn’t discern) made it smoother and a tad sweeter; nor do I care. I enjoyed it.
