This stout includes oatmeal in its grist, resulting in a full flavor and rich, smooth profile but not grainy. A chocolate and coffee-like roasted malt character is smooth but is intensified by the use of several pounds of DESTIHL's own blend of South American espresso coffee in this beer. Under-hopping allows the coffee to contribute to the flavor profile while not becoming excessively bitter.

a: best part about this beer. looks thick and black sitting in the glass with a two finger mocha colored head. plenty of lacing.

s: coffee, oats, chocolate and something i'm not sure of, could be their yeast.

t: slight coffee and sweet dark chocolate.

m: starts rich full and creamy and finishes with a thin watered down feel.

o: kinda let down by this one. had high hopes when i seen it getting poured, but with the fainted coffee aromas and flavors it was a let down. still tasty, just not as good as it could of been.

bought at destihl restaurant and brew works. local brew bub. they only serve their beers! approximately 34 oz. growler to a pint glass. pretty dark. bordering on black. minimal brown head. looks nice.

could not get much aroma until i drank it down into my pint so i could get a good swirl. good coffee aroma. a little roastyness. some bitter chocolate in there. no off odors.

coffee and chocolate on the tongue. get a little sweet with a touch of hop bitterness. aftertaste is bitter chocolate. balanced for what they are after.

low carbonation. full body mouthfeel. very smooth. no lace. good beer. could drink more than a few. i will get this again. good smooth oatmeal.
