A German-style Strong Doppelbock...full bodied, deep amber-dark brown in color, malty sweet with some caramel and toffee evident but lightly toasted Munich-style barley malt dominating, fruity esters, such as a hint of raisin, are perceived but at low levels, roast malt astringency is absent, alcoholic strength is high, hop bitterness, flavor and aroma are very low to absent.

Appearance: Dark brown with a tint of a amber that was clear and a head like a light brown sugar whip cream that thins to a ring
Aroma: Earthy, and Coco and caramel malt with a rich floral hoppiness
Taste: Crisp and clean with a rich earthy malt hops combo and a smooth transition to a slight bitter hop mixed with the creamy head to follow
Notes: Good Clean beer reminds me more of a porter

It had a creamy head of offwhite foam, with very good head retention. Sheets of lacing coated the sides of the glass. The body was a very dark brownish-black, with reddish chestnut highlights in the light.

Sweet caramel toffee aroma, with a similar taste. Light roast, with hints of raisin and fruity esters also. Very smooth and full bodied. A tiny hop bitterness showed up in the finish. This was the best beer I tried at the brewpub.

picked this up at the local craft brewer. good beers. approximately a 34 ounce growler for $10.50. poured into an imperial pint glass. dark brown with a deep red hue. good clarity. two finger light brown head that thins out. looks good.

chocolate and caramel sweetness. tiny amount of earthy hops. no off odors. smells good.

roasty chocolate taste. sweet also. light hop presence. balance for style. sweet aftertaste.

enough carbonation. full body. a little lace. i really dig this beer. i could drink more than a few. i will pick up another growler next season. good doppelbock.
