Lucked out finding this on cask at the brewpub.
Served in an imperial pint, this porter was black with a glint of ruby in the light. The tan foam stuck around, with concentric rings of foam as the glass was drained.
Mild roasty aroma, somewhat restrained but clean and distinct.
Bittersweet roast malts, earthy and dry, bakers chocolate, mild coffee traces, fairly moderate hop bitterness gives it a little bite. The malt character verges on sweet but ends up more dry and roasty, which lingers in the aftertaste.
For being on cask, this was well carbonated, with lasting foam. It approaches a stout in terms of flavor, but is light bodied and easily sessioned. A nice porter that would be great to see year-round.

picked up a growler the other night. planning on heading back for more soon. pours dark brown with a brown head. good lacing.
dark roasty malts on the nose. chocolate in there. citrusy hops. no off odors.
roasted malt flavor. chocolate in there as well. low hop presence. dry aftertaste.
mid-full body. enough carbonation. good beer. look forward to trying next year.
