Chocolate & caramel notes from roasted malt collide with creamy, nutty flavor of peanut butter, creating a luxurious combination on the palate. Subtle sweetness, medium body & creamy mouthfeel give way to a smooth finish, providing a liquid dessert sensation for the senses.

12 oz can poured with a tall beige head over a near black body.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full and smooth but a little fuller would be better.

Excellent balance of peanut and dark grain flavors with a suggestion of chocolate.

From the bottom of the can: "B2766 10:19 canned on 11/12/24"

Appearance: The body is dark brown - nearly black. It has a very large and dense light tan head that has a ton of small bubbles with a few craters here and there. It looks pillowy on the surface. Nice sheets of lacing on the glass.

Aroma: It smells like roasted peanuts.

Taste: There's a bit of a roasted flavor which tastes a bit like regular and burnt caramel mixed with nuts. It kind-of tastes like crackerjacks. The flavor is consistent and there is a light carbon character towards the end.

Mouthfeel: It is medium-light and on the heavy side of carbonation which fills the mouth with a wash of bubbles. It feels pretty good. There is a mild roasted bitterness to the beer.

Overall: It's a pretty good beer. The label states that this is an "AMERICAN PORTER WITH PEANUT BUTTER FLAVOR" and the porter largely takes a back seat in this beer to the peanut butter. It's a pretty good beer as a whole but the base beer seems a bit too light in the body. It's okay so I'd recommend picking up at least a single pour or can in a mix-a-six. I could probably drink it again.

This one grew on me as I worked my way through the can. I might be spoiled by Crooked Handle's peanut butter porter, which is the best I've had and brewed in my neck of the woods.

Does the woods have other body parts? Is there a kneecap of the woods? Buttocks of the woods? Ooh, band name.

poured from a 12oz can into a half pint glass. faint brown with light, see-through edges. roasted peanuts and light peanut butter on the nose. taste starts off as this but finishes watery and a little bland. medium mouthfeel. not bad but not quite as flavorful as the nose would lead you to believe. still, pretty good and sessionable.

Not bad. Smells fantastic. Little fakey in the PB and perhaps a tad chemical flavored on the finish.

Pours clear brown with a ruby tint when held to the light. Thick but short-lived tan head leaves light lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and peanut butter. Flavor follows the nose, slightly sweet. Feel is light bodied and low in carbonation. Overall, a fairly good porter.

There are a shit ton of peanut butter porters on the market but this one seems to do everything really well. Solid nutty peanut butter taste mixed with the right amount of bitter chocolate flavor. Pours jet black with not much lacing but plenty of head. Really delicious without being overpoweringly sweet. Well done.

Dark brown with ruby highlights, big peanut butter nuttiness on the nose with some dark malty sweetness, very dry and roasty on the body like a good porter would have, mild sweetness but big peanut character.

12 oz. can, canned on 08/24/22 according to the bottom. A new one to me from DESTIHL Brewery, possibly my first porter from these guys. "American porter with peanut butter flavor".

Poured to clear stemless snifter glass.
Pours a bit thicker and heavier than expected by just a few hairs. Body is a deeeep dark woodsy brown, impenetrable by any light. Finger of big frothy khaki tan fluff that leaves good spotty lacing. Looks fresh & appealing.
Aroma is big on the nuttiness, definitely embodies the smell of fresh peanut butter extremely well, but it doesn't feel entirely authentic. Aromas of roasted malt, malt nuttiness, brown bread, bread crusts, & fresh roasted peanut beneath the artificial "peanut butter" aroma.
Taste follows the nose: not entirely 100% authentic tasting, but the flavors that we have are all decent. Nutty "peanut butter" essence, notes of chocolate roast, dark malts, hints of vanilla extract, cream, whipped sugar. Definitely could be viewed as a dessert beer for some, but the lower abv makes it great for any time.
Smooth, crisp, clean, lightly bitter / roasty, with subtle hints of chocolate, baking cocoa, & char on the finish. Good carbonation, excellent sessionable low abv.
As I've said, DESTIHL consistently puts out top quality beers, they might even be in my top 10 Illinois breweries as of late, I would have to think about it, but regardless, keep up the good work guys.

Aroma is peanuts/peanut butter, chocolate and dark malts. The flavor is peanuts/peanut butter, dark malts, fruit and a sweet chocolate/acidic finish.
