Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing "Ginger Snap Cookie"
on tap at the brewery on 15 January 2017
Notes: Hazy straw gold body beneath a short head of white. Fairly good head retention, and good lacing. Ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla come through in the aroma, and then again in the flavor. It's not sweet, just sweetish; any less would leave you wondering why it's called "Ginger Snap Cookie". It has a low bitterness but that's all that's needed as the spice dries it in the finish. Some vanilla lingers. Light bodied and softly crisp with a restrained carbonation. Very nicely done. All of the flavor components come through clearly, and the balance is perfect. It's surprisingly drinkable, and although it's "Cookie" flavored it doesn't really come across as a dessert beer, although it would certainly work in that fashion if you wanted it to. Definitely worth trying.

On tap at Bonds Tavern in West Orange. Pours a cloudy, hazy hue with minimal frothing. Sugar sweet aroma replete with hints of shortbread and cinnamon. Similar overall taste profile.
