A: Dark ice tea coloring in the vessel showed a bit of unfiltered nature. The head was small and whispy, and quickly regressed.
S: The aroma had a really nice and strong rate of smokey pineapples. An initial fruitiness leads to a smokey and ashy finish that lingers on with a bit of funky pineapple dryness.
T: The initial flavor was sweet and funky pineapple. A nice level of smokiness and ash moves in. Tart, sour and funky, the addition of the smoked pineapple makes this drink very unique. A lightly dry sooty ash lines the tongue upon the swallow.
M: Medium mouthful, soft texture, an almost wheat like feel.
O: Overall the smoked pineapple was a lot more aggressive then I thought it would be, making for a pleasant surprise for someone who has been disappointed in past over smoked beers for its restraint. This didn't even have smoked malt to my knowledge and info., it was the pineapple that was smoked and added, which gives you the base for its flavor. Sweet, tart, funky, and spicy smoked pineapple is the star here and lives up to its billing.
