Solid black appearance with a thin mocha lasting head.
...light carbonation with a thick, creamy body.
There's a heavy cream feel that lingers and coats the mouth.
...aroma is a very strong intense mix of wood, tobacco, oak, whiskey, rich chocolate.
...taste has some sweetness, rich chocolate and some whiskey. Theres wood, alcohol with mild mocha.
...overall this is a phenomenal beer.

16oz can from my brother. Near black pour, thick, thin beige head. Roasty aroma with notes of whiskey. Taste adds notes of chocolate, barrel notes. Silky, sweet, strong.

Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing "Gravity Road - Bourbon Barrel Aged"
750 ml brown glass bottle, corked & caged, without production codes or freshness dating.
$20 at the brewery on 11/24/18
Note: the cork was inserted too far into the bottle and thus the cage didn't fit and hung loose. It was very hard to remove the cork.
Look: Absolutely opaque black body beneath a half-inch thick head of dark tan foam that settles into a thin cap of densely creamy foam that slowly erodes. Unfortunately, little lacing follows an otherwise good head retention.
Smell: Bourbon, sugar, soft oak, nuts, fruit (apple, peach) - wonderful!
Taste: Bourbon mixed into creamy milk chocolate, almonds, filberts, coconut, darker chocolate, soft fruit (mainly peach), light black coffee with cream, unrefined sugar, tea, tobacco, oak, leaves, grass, earth. The alcohol has a clear presence but it isn't too sharp, and along with a very firm bitterness it's balanced and finishes dry but with some sweet notes of chocolate, nuts, coconut, apple, and brown sugar lingering.
Feel: Medium bodied and just gently crisp with a light caress on the tongue. Smooth and creamy.
Overall: This is a stunning transformation of their regular Gravity Road which is fairly aggressive, but that makes sense as the oak aging softens it. If the original beer hadn't been as intense as it is this would have fallen short. As it stands it's really quite remarkable.
