Translating to “dark wheat,” this unfiltered German wheat beer is brewed with a large variety of dark malts, but it is surprisingly light-bodied, bright, and easy drinking. Chocolate and bananas dominate the aroma, while the flavor and finish more closely mimic the dunkelweizen's summertime counterpart, the Hefe, with lots of bright orange and citrus flavor. A welcome break from the chewy high gravity offerings of the winter season.
