12 oz can, no date, Odell Teku.
Chocolate brown with silky black tinges and a creamy beige head of 1 finger. Sparse lacing on the glass.
Aromas of dirty yeast cake and trub, cacao nibs, very slight coconut, and slight earth. It doesn't smell finished, or like it is near the bottom of the fermenter.
Flavor is chocolate, yeast trub, and coconut. Slight spicy earth, some coffee, maybe some chili pepper. As described pretty much, just not a wow-ee beer.
Feel is slick and somewhat light, very carbonated, light heat.
Overall an okay stout, nothing that will break records, a bit light on the coconut. It drinks more like a porter.
Price paid : $8.99 / 4 pack
Would buy again : nah

A deep black with a decent sized tad head.
Can really smell the coconut and chocolate. Pretty much smells like a Mounds bar.
Very pronounced chocolate flavor. There is coconut, but more in the background than up front. Pretty much a Mounds bar in liquid form.
Very smooth going down, good example of silky smoothness.
Overall a nice pleasant beer. Nothing about it is truly outstanding, but no major flaws either. This would make a nice dessert beer, it is sweet, but not overly so. Worth a try, and would be a good first stout for someone wanting to try the style.

12 ounce can. Pours almost black with an average brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coconut, and malt. Taste is sweet chocolate, coconut, and roasted malt. Very sweet. Pretty good.
