On draft, served in a shaker pint glass
Black in color, tan colored head. Decent head retention. Aroma is a bit of chocolate and a touch of maple. Very mild coffee. Similar flavor, on the sweeter side. Medium to full bodied.

Beer poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours pitch black with a fluffy light brown head. Smells of coffee with chocolate notes. Tastes of chocolate with slight other sweetness and coffee. Beer is full bodied but yet easy drinking. Overall, a very good beer.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is very mild, a touch of maple. Taste is of dark roasted malts, some subdued hints of maple. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but I was hoping for more maple and pancake flavor, considering the name.

"A traditional roasty stout, brewed with Vermont maple syrup and made slightly sweet by the addition of non-fermentable milk sugar." Hmm. Wait for it to warm up and it improves immensely, but even still I don't get any maple. Still an enjoyable beer, although somewhat disappointing.
