Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours cloudy yellow orange with a small white head. Smells of sweet citrus hops. Tastes of sweet and bitter citrus notes with nice grain notes. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, especially for the alcohol level, good carbonation. Overall a very good beer.

This was ridiculously priced (14 bucks for a 4 pack) but the can is pretty so whatever.

Pours lightly hazy gold with an impressive head considering its ABV. Not nearly hazy enough to be a New England IPA, imho, but it still looks fine.

Smells pretty straightforward: pine, grapefruit, and weeds. Absolutely lacking the juiciy fruitiness of its purported style, but still okay.

Tastes like it smells: straightforward and okay. Kind of a weird finish with some chemical nodes.

Absolutely not worth what it costs.

Can says it is a New England IPA. It's not. Water chemistry is off and ibus are way too high. Lacks any juiceyness.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Deep orange with light caramel brown like highlights and opaque body color, with a faint khaki to off white colored tall head. Reaches a solid three fingers with fine bubbles and creamy appearances. Thick and bubbly lace with excellent cling and retention, lots of staying power. Large amounts of pill like lacing and clingy head. Real nice looking.

Very nice spicy tangerine orange tones on the hop angle under the nose. Sweet earth and cirtrus make for a nice real punch even flirting with dank qualities. Senses a creamy but also sugary malt bill, but with touches of spice. Pretty great and solid aroma.

Palate lacks a little bit of body. Light bodied by just a hair, but gives to syrup tones like some typical Imperial IPAs. Good solid palate of hop earth and citrus. Excellent pine and mint like finish with a slight green bent. Some caramel syrup sweetness but a good cut on a good spicy hop bitterness that cuts real nicely.

Interesting take on a DIPA, not really NE, but a simply solid brew.

It doesn't really pour like a NE-style IPA, but it's cloudier than a west coast IPA. Same with the aroma - it's intensely tropical yet citrusy, yet it has an additional piny, herbaceous touch. And guess what? The taste also follows suit! It opens up with plenty of mango, grapefruit, and papaya, yet ends with a crisp, firm touch of bitter pine. Notes of table sugar and bread anchor the middle well - by no means is it overmalted (good considering it's 9%). It isn't overly bitter, either. Even if it's not really successful as a NE-style IPA, it still satisfies immensely as a general example of the style. While the full body slows drinkability some, it's crisp and dry enough to traverse the palate with little effort. It could be creamier in texture, but the feel suits the flavor profile well. I dig it: it's more balanced than a west coast IPA, and less chalky than a NE-style IPA. None of this would matter if it didn't capture the aspects a proper IPA should, but it really does. It's well hopped and not overly sweet or bitter. I'll gladly have this again.

4.02/5: Not a hazy juice bomb, just a great IPA
