An homage to the Maryland state dog whose roots trace back to the same region our brewery was founded in.
Aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate set the stage for this smooth, medium bodied porter aged on Tahitian vanilla beans for subtle sweetness paired with notes of chocolate and roasted grains.

From a can, poured into a Pokal.
A brown brew with a thin head that leaves a little lacing.
Malt forward, with a caramel tang that settles in and lasts through the finish. Vanilla and chocolate notes are dominant.
Light bodied with a mild hops character.

Had on tap at The Green Door in SoMD on one of their $3 pint nights. Not bad. Looks-wise, it didn't really have much of a head or anything though. Looked like a glass of cola. But smells and tastes pretty good. Very chocolatey, a good bit of vanilla as well. Tastes a bit too desserty to have more than one of these, but it's enjoyable for what it is.

Falls into the “ok” category. The aroma wasn’t very strong and it took a second stronger whiff to pick up on hints of citrus. The vanilla taste in this vanilla porter is mild. The best part of the experience was the awesome looking dog on the can.
