Fresh Baked is our winter ale brewed with chocolate malt, toasted English brown malt, and oats that have been oven toasted right at our brewery. The beer is then finished with subtle touches of cinnamon and vanilla, yielding a toasty, lightly sweet, lightly spiced brown ale reminiscent of fresh baked oatmeal cookies. Yum!

This brew pours a dark brown with an orangey hue, including a thick syrupy head that dissipates quickly. The nose on this turned me off a bit. It reeks of burnt caramel, coffee that's been left on the burner too long, and overly toasted wheat. The taste, however, is damn good. Warm, toasty bread competes with a sweet, chocolately coffee malt. Out of this comes caramelized toffee, burnt oak, and mild hints of nutmeg, honey, and cola. The feel, though is a bit thin for a beer of this stature and heft. Definitely a brew to pick up and try out, but I probably won't buy it again, at least until next year!

On tap at Big Ditch Brewing Company in Buffalo, NY.
This one pours a light brown, clear, with a small head, and not much lacing.
Smells kinda light- there's subtle cinnamon, slight vanilla, and sweet breadiness.
They were going for a flavor profile trying to invoke oatmeal cookies here- and they basically got it. It's not the most boldly flavored beer ever, but it does have a nice subtle cinnamon spice to it- too much could have been overwhelming, possibly. The base brown ale is not exceptionally exciting, but does have a nice oat-derived creamy smoothness.
That creaminess is the highlight of this beer, as it goes down quite smoothly, with a good level of carbonation.
This is an interesting beer, but I was left hoping for a bit more boldness in the flavors, and a more interesting and malt-deep base.
