When the Erie Canal was completed in 1825, its completion was toasted as the “Great Celebration”. As part of the celebration, cannons were placed along the canal within earshot of each other, and were fired in both directions from Buffalo to the Hudson River and back. The entire Cannon Call took three hours to complete!

Cannon Call is a double IPA with Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Idaho 7, and Simcoe hops to yield a tropical flavor explosion with notes of white grape and orange zest. Gold medal for best double IPA in New York State at the 2019 NYS Craft Beer Competition.

On tap at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells pretty Nelson-y, with grape and berry, with some pineapple and grapefruit zest.

This really straddles the line I like for hazy IPAs – there’s a clean and refreshing bitterness, but with a really juicy and soft hop character up front. There’s the typical tropical fruit crossed with white grape of Nelson here, and a really pleasant piney but soft bitterness on the end.

This is light bodied, creamy, and smooth, with a really good drinkability.

This is just a wonderfully drinkable and well brewed IPA.

Pretty good. Tropical flavor with a hint of orange taste. Smooth with a little carbonation but very drinkable especially for a double IPA. Does seem to have a scent of a liquor when sipping. Thumbs up.

12 oz can poured into a tumbler. Pours a hazy light orange with a rocky off-white head. Aroma and flavor feature tropical fruit, wheat, and some vegetal/astringent green hop character. Fine as a one-and-done, not something I'd be likely to drink again.

Pours ultra hazy, gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is mostly tangerine with a touch of orange juice. Medium body, juicy, slightly bitter, moderate carbonation. Makes for a slightly above average neipa. Not bad but nothing I need again.
