Served on tap at the 129th Turkey Trot in Buffalo in a plastic cup
Appearance – Served a lightly hazed golden color with a rocky head of white foam. The head had a good level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a grainy smell mixed with notes of yeast and some spice smells of coriander. Along with these smells comes a touch of lemon and a little bit of wheat and hay.
Taste – The taste follows the nose well, with a good showing of grain and some bread along with flavors of yeast and some spice of coriander and clove. Along with these flavors comes a bit of harvest fruit sweetness and some doughy malt. As the taste moves forward more spice joins in, along with a very light herbal and floral flavor. A bit more spice and some hay comes on at the end, leaving one with a rather pleasant and easy natured taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body was moderate in both its carbonation and thickness. Easy drinking and well balanced to the tastes.
Overall – A rather nice blond with a good level of flavor and not overwhelming.
