This beer pours very dark brown from the can. The head was 4 finger, off white, and did dissipate fairly quickly. The nose is interesting - earthy, nutty. The taste is rich. I get a nutty flavor. Slight smoke flavor. Maybe a bit watery, but not too much so. Delicious beer.

probably the most enjoyable beer i had in here, and certainly the most technically sound and true to style beer they are making, lots of unconventional stuff on the menu. this is shiny very dark brown on the edge of black with a short but lasting mocha brown head on it, airy. aroma of bready earthy yeast, deep roasted barley, fresh espresso, and some dark chocolate bitterness. the flavor is about the same, really dark on the grain, but softened by the yeast presence. maybe a little more dark grain in here than i am used to in the style, but i think it adds an appealing depth of flavor, a longer more expressive finish, and a bit more body as well. slick going down too, lots of glide, not thick and heavy despite its color, and some decent carbonation for what it is. i like this being so robust, but also so drinkable. low alcohol is sort of the name of the game for this style, and this beer does it well. i liked all the beer here pretty well, but this one really stands out as one of their best.

Love this beer! It is always a go-to beer, delicious even in the hot summer. With light chocolate and coffee aroma and flavor from the malt, low bitterness, and a crisp clean feel there is no better dry stout. Slainte!
