L- Inky black, poured with a partial 1mm deep tan head that vanished in 2 seconds. Being 10.3% does not help head creation/retention.
S- Heavy rich charring, wisps of mild smoke too.
T- O-M-G! The liquor note right on the front is prominent and immediate. Then a huge cocoa (major) and coffee hints (minor) aspect comes rushing in that briefly reminds me of Bailey's Irish Cream (chocolate liqueur). The taste is really seriously pungent, the most pungent of the past 100+ or more beers I've had , easily! Plan on tasting nothing subtle after this beast.
F- The Feel is also notably thick/viscous, I got that on the first sip. That also reminds me of drinking a liqueur. It's fun, but it's also full-on so not for everyone.
O- It's big and bold, to me it's a slow sipping beer. Starring massive cocoa of the pungent kind like a 70% dark cocoa chocolate bar, rather than a Dailrymilk etc bar dominate over all. Coffee notes follow, hints of smoke. Perhaps start it off reasonably chilled as it's too pungent to rush and it's building in intensity as it warms a bit in the glass. Expect some big drama!
440ml can £5.50 BB: 11/11/21 Bought from TremblingMadness/York as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
ps I just read the can: Be aware it contains liquid chocolate and maltodextrin.
