Pours golden amber into a glass from a bottle. Offwhite head is a single finger high, with moderate retention.
Aroma is almost non-existant, very mild malts and slight hop notes. The flavour takes me by surprise a little, much more malty than I was expecting with vinous creamy toffee flavours, some grapefruit peel and a hop bitterness on the finish.
Feel is light-medium, low carbonation and dry bitter finish.
Standard pale ale.

On gravity at Belfast Beer Fest, ‘14.
Pale clean gold with no head. 3.75
Musty, earthy nose. 3.5
Tart grain, lemon zest, some herbs, and a big pithy hit. 4
Chalk and nettle finish and long sherbety bitter linger.
Oily, round, and almost medium. 3.75
IBUs! Packs a punch for 4%, and bitter over aroma. Some citrus in the hops (2nd taste was Seville orange) but more like Noble turned up to 11 - no tropical NZ hops in spite of the name. Merciless, in a good way.
Deservedly Beer of the Fest. 4.25
